Getting there

Getting to Amazon HQ2 by Metro, train or bus.

Amazon says it encourages employees to use the Metro, bike or walk to the office.5 Two Metro stations, a VRE station and several commuter bus lines are close by.

  • METROPentagon City and Crystal City.

    The National Landing business improvement district puts Metropolitan Park about a 7-minute walk from Pentagon City Metro and 10 minutes from Crystal City Metro, both on the Blue and Yellow Lines.3,6 No change of trains from Arlington’s Blue and Yellow stations, the City of Alexandria, Huntington in Alexandria and, on weekdays, Franconia-Springfield.6 Orange and Silver Line riders change at Rosslyn. WMATA’s weekend tables list only the Yellow Line at both stations.6

  • VREBoth VRE lines stop at Crystal City.

    VRE’s Crystal City station, 1503 South Crystal Drive, is on both the Fredericksburg and Manassas Lines.4 Scheduled weekday morning times to Crystal City: Alexandria 9 minutes, Franconia-Springfield 21, Backlick Road 22, Lorton 29, Rolling Road 30, Burke Centre 35, Woodbridge 36, Manassas Park 49, Manassas 55 and Broad Run in Bristow 63.7

  • BUSCommuter buses to Eads Street.

    Loudoun County Transit route 482 from Leesburg and route 282 from Aldie and East Gate in Chantilly stop at Eads and 13th Streets; the first 482 leaves Leesburg at 5:30 a.m. and reaches Eads and 13th at 6:49.8 Some OmniRide 972 trips from Dale City continue past the Pentagon to Eads and 11th Street, about 45 to 50 minutes from the Dale City lot.9 Fairfax Connector 598 from Reston ends at Crystal City Metro.10

  • BIKEBike racks and showers.

    Amazon lists 620 bike racks, two bike repair and wash stations, a half mile of new protected bike lanes and locker rooms with showers at Metropolitan Park, plus four levels of below-grade parking with 290 EV charging stations (May 2023).5

  • DRIVECarpool free on the I‑395 Express Lanes.

    VDOT says vehicles with three or more people ride the I-95 and I-395 Express Lanes free with an E-ZPass Flex set to HOV mode.11 The reversible lanes run north on weekday mornings, 2:30 to 11 a.m., and south from noon.12

VRE’s Crystal City station is on both the Fredericksburg and Manassas Lines. On the weekday timetable, Woodbridge to Crystal City is 36 minutes and Manassas to Crystal City is 55 minutes. The walk from the platform to Metropolitan Park is not published.

Is there a commuter bus to HQ2 from Loudoun County?

Yes. Loudoun County Transit routes 482 (from Leesburg) and 282 (from Aldie and East Gate in Chantilly) stop at Eads and 13th Streets in Arlington, on a schedule effective July 1, 2026, with a $12 SmarTrip fare.
