Luxury in Northern VirginiaEstate country, private clubs and hunt-country weekends

A considered guide to the estate towns, the private clubs and the quiet terminals that shape a life here, one subject at a time.

Updated October 7, 2026Golf Digest, MICHELIN Guide, Forbes Travel Guide and local reportingAbout an 8-minute read

Quick answer

Luxury here is measured in acreage and access rather than a single address. Four private clubs hold places on Golf Digest's 2025-'26 Virginia Top 25. Loudoun's hunt country runs steeplechase in spring and fall. Three private terminals serve the region, the one at Dulles around the clock, and a MICHELIN two-star table waits within an hour's drive. Golf opens the series.

Before the first viewing

What a private client weighs first.

Before any floor plan, four questions tend to settle the search: how you will arrive, how much land you want, which clubs matter, and who represents you.

Arrival

Three private terminals within the region.

The field you land at can set the shape of a viewing day.

  • Washington Dulles (IAD). Signature Aviation's private terminal is open 24/7.15
  • Leesburg Executive. Kuhn Jet Center, in Loudoun County.16
  • Manassas Regional. APP Jet Center, in Prince William County.17

When you fly in for a viewing day, I plan the route from whichever terminal you choose.

Estate country

Where the land opens up.

Four places come up first when acreage and privacy lead the brief.

  • Great Falls. Fairfax County's river country along the Potomac, and home to the private River Bend club.1
  • McLean. The closest in of the four, with Tysons Galleria at hand.10
  • Middleburg. The village at the center of Loudoun's hunt country, where Salamander's resort includes an equestrian center.
  • Aldie. The Club at Creighton Farms: gated, on 900 acres, around a Jack Nicklaus Signature course.7

The clubs

Membership, considered early.

Each club sets its own membership terms. I raise the question at the start, so it shapes the search rather than surfacing at the closing table.

  • Golf. Four private clubs hold places on Golf Digest's 2025-'26 Virginia Top 25, and the golf article profiles each.1
  • The older names. Washington Golf & Country Club, International and Westwood all trace their courses to 1961 or earlier.
  • The water. The Old Dominion Boat Club in Old Town is private, founded in 1880, with a new clubhouse in 2018.

Working together

How I work with private clients.

Discretion is simply how I work.

  • Private showings. By appointment, arranged around your calendar and your flight.
  • Confidentiality. Your name, your search and your budget stay between us.
  • Hand-checked numbers. Every closed sale I put in front of you, I have verified myself.
  • Vetted contacts. Introductions only to inspectors, lenders and other professionals I have worked alongside and trust.

The series

Eleven subjects, taken one at a time.

Each subject receives its own article. Golf is published; the others follow, and each card gives the essentials in the meantime.

Where the cars come out

The meets, the concours and the hunt-country drives.

The serious cars in Northern Virginia are not kept in the garage. They gather on Saturday mornings in Great Falls, on King Street each spring, and on the lanes between Middleburg and the Blue Ridge each fall. These are the gatherings confirmed for 2026.

Saturday mornings

Coffee, early, among the exotics.

  • Katie's Cars and Coffee, Great Falls. Every Saturday from 6 to 9 a.m., rain or shine, in the Great Falls Village Centre, and held there since 2010.18
  • DC Exotics at Ferrari of Washington, Sterling. A seasonal Saturday morning series at the Ferrari dealer; 2026 editions ran on May 16 and July 18.19
  • Porsche GT Meet, Porsche Tysons. The eighth annual gathering of GT cars is on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.20

The concours calendar

Judged lawns and closed streets.

  • Old Town Festival of Speed & Style, Alexandria. Rare and exotic cars line King Street each May, with the black-tie High Octane Ball the night before. The next festival is May 16, 2027.21
  • Hunt Country Classic, Great Meadow. An all-British concours at The Plains, south of Middleburg, where Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls-Royce take the field; the 2026 show is October 11.24
  • Founders' Concours, Lovettsville. The Porsche Club's judged concours at Creek's Edge Winery in western Loudoun, held July 12 in 2026.25

On the road

Hunt country, at speed and at leisure.

  • Rallye Middleburg. Pre-war to early-1970s cars run regularity stages from Middleburg to Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia and back; the 2026 rallye is October 17.22 It began in 2025, after the 1000 Miglia Warm-Up USA left Middleburg for Miami.23
  • Hunt Country Rally. The Porsche Club's fall rally through Virginia hunt country ends in Middleburg on November 1, 2026.20
  • Track days. Summit Point, across the West Virginia line, is the Porsche Club's home circuit for high-performance driving days.20

The owners' clubs

Membership by marque.

  • Ferrari Club of America, Mid-Atlantic. Rallies and fall leaf tours through the year, with Ferrari of Washington among its sponsors.26
  • Lamborghini Club Mid-Atlantic. Home of the annual BullFest rally.27
  • Rolls-Royce Owners' Club, Chesapeake Region. Member events for Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners.28
  • Porsche Club of America, Potomac Region. Monthly brunches, drives, rallies and its own concours.20

Your agent

The house is one decision. The land around it is another.

I have been a real estate agent since 2014, first in Michigan, and licensed in Virginia since 2019. NVAR named me a Top Producer every year from 2020 to 2025.

The boundaries. Where the town line falls, which schools the address feeds, and what the HOA or club documents allow.

The land next door. Anything planned or filed for the adjoining parcel. The golf article shows how quickly a fairway view can change.

Two languages. I work in English and Arabic, and calls and texts reach me directly, on my own phone.

Your next step

Begin with a private conversation.

Tell me what the house should sit near: a first tee, a paddock, a slip or a terminal. I will reply personally, in English or Arabic, with homes that fit and the closed sales behind their prices.

Keep exploring
